Employment at Myriad

Web/Print Design and Production Person

Myriad, Inc. (www.myriadweb.com) is looking for a part-time designer and production person to work in our Back Bay office. Candidates should:

  • Have a design or other fine arts degree
  • 1-2 years experience
  • Be responsible, reliable and self-motivated
  • Have a sound design problem solving approach
  • Have experience with print and web design and production software (Dreamweaver, InDesign, Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, FTP, etc.)
  • Have a thorough knowledge of CSS, HTML, FTP
  • Be willing to work three days per week with eventual full-time potential

Daily responsibilities will include:

  • Translating Photoshop files into HTML, CSS or Flash and preparing for live launch
  • Producing printed pieces in Quark/InDesign//Photoshop and preparing for printing
  • Creating design directions for web and other interactive projects
  • Creating design directions for printed projects
  • Communicating with clients and other stakeholders
  • Taking art direction and refining sketch concepts

While the position comprises three days per week, these may be worked as three consecutive days, four afternoons or mornings and one full day, or in any combination that works with the candidate’s schedule, as long as the work schedule is consistent from week to week and the combined hours total 24-30.

Myriad Overview
Myriad was founded in 1994 by two designers with strong backgrounds in architecture, graphic design, interface design, and museum exhibit design. This body of experience has helped Jane Cuthbertson and Ted Groves lead Myriad to create award-winning online and print work for clients such as Harvard, MIT, The U.S. Department of Education, Massachusetts General Hospital, The Currier Museum of Art and The Lenox Hotel. Projects have ranged from comprehensive corporate identity solutions to corporate Intranets, educational web sites, interactive CD-ROMs, books and printed collateral materials, including annual reports, organizational brochures, software documentation and letterhead solutions.
