The Kokkalis Program on Southeastern and
East-Central Europe was established in September 1997 at
the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Looking to build bridges for peace across Southeastern and
East-Central Europe and between the rest of the world, the
Kokkalis Program came to Myriad to establish a powerful
brand identity to convey the importance of its mission.
Using a restrained palette and simple, strong typography,
Myriad created an integrated design solution that conveys
the distinction of the Program and the optimism of its participants
without appearing somber. Using a rational page grid, the
new website easily accommodates any type of information
while keeping the pages easy to read ---- and easy to update
by the Kokkalis team.
Three weeks after the new website launched, it generated
twice as much traffic as any other Program or Center website
within Harvard. Dramatically increasing awareness, understanding,
and participation for the Program, the website has become
the benchmark for an online presence within the Kennedy
School at Harvard.
