Industry: cultural/non-profit
As part of a pro bono initiative, The Society of Arts and Crafts approached Myriad to develop a visual identity for its annual exhibition, CraftBoston, in May 2002. CraftBoston is a key initiative in the Societys mission to support excellence in craft by encouraging the creation, collection, and conservation of the work of craft artists by educating and promoting public appreciation of fine craftsmanship.
Using a palette of classic blacks, reds, and whites, Myriad worked with CraftBoston to establish a brand that reinforces the organizations timeless tradition. The design was extended across a variety of deliverables, including stationery system, invitation set, transit advertisement and poster.
For over 100 years, The Society of Arts and Crafts has been at the forefront of the American craft movement. The work that Myriad offered to the organization is notable since all proceeds from sales support American craft through grants to artists, education, and outreach. Since its debut, and to a great extent through its branding, CraftBoston is now recognized as one of the top craft shows in the United States. |
